Weight update
As of this past thursday (12/10) I weighted in and have officially lost 41 pounds in just a little over 3 months. I am shooting to lose 50 pounds by jan 1st. just 9 pounds to go in a little over 2 weeks. It might be doable.
I surived....
.... the annual safeway cookie bake. I would like to proudly say I made 85-90% of the cookies this year, and did not have a single bite of the dough or frosting. My parents now have way to many cookies at there house. Just helped frost some more cookies just tonight, still no licking of the fingers or eating the dough. So far so good.
fyi: The safeway cookie bake aka the Dornbecher Cookie bake! Basically Safeway opens up their bread plant and people come from everywhere to bake cookies (for themselves) and help support the hospital (to my knowledge safeway donates all the dough, and you pay like $15-20 bucks for 10 pounds of dough and i think $10-15 for a table to reserve for 2 hours for cookie cutter cutting. you have to move to a new location to frost) The cookie bake sells out within hours of opening the phones lines. (i think they have somewhere between 1500-2000 cookie makers in the day.)

Happy Turkey day!
Little update: I made it thru thanksgiving just fine, had a total of 19.4 carbs for the day. Didn't cheat, and still I managed to lose 4 pounds. I worked out at the club and even did a timed 400m run. (4.52) still slow but improving. I am starting to slowly get into training for a half marathon in july. So far the official total of weight lost is 35lbs. It looks like I just might be able to lose 50 before jan 1st. well thats the goal anyways. We will see. I am super sore today from working out at crossfit. but it was good to be back there and working out.

31 pounds
Update: So I have lost over 30 pounds. and I am back to the gym finally. Went to crossfit yesterday, and my legs today are super sore, which is a good thing cause I totally miss it. Its been too long since Ive really had a good workout. I go to the gym and workout but its nothing like working out at crossfit. Other then not working out, I've still been eating great, have yet to cheat (without knowing it - see gum post)

Happy Halloween!
So today is Halloween (yes i know i am posting @ 1:30am, but I am still up.) So yesterday (Friday, which for me its still Friday, as i haven't slept yet for it to be unofficially Halloween) I went to weigh-in, I wasn't expecting much as I have not been able to get to crossfit for almost 3 weeks (my back tweaked on me and I had to stop excercising for a few days, even had to go to the doctor to get some good drugs. Doctor told me I could still exercise but only in small amounts at first, so I took a few days off and didn't exercise (but still followed my food plan, no cheating here), I then slowly went back to the gym (not crossfit, I attend 2 different gyms, 1 being the standard gym, and the other being crossfit.) I have slowly upped my time on the machines to where if I continue at my current rate that I should be back in crossfit in a little under 2 weeks, with my back being back up to between 85-95% stenght back and it shouldnt tweak out when I stand for more then 10-15 minutes.
So other then exercising I have been following the food plan, and you would think that this time of year would be hard with all the candy and my favorite candy are those candy corn. (I could eat those things all day if I was given the chance.) Now that I have been on this new food plan, which honestly I love, who wouldn't love to eat steak and pork and chicken and bacon all the time, esp the steak & bacon part, my sister made me ribs the other day, I tried really hard not to eat them all in 1 sitting like the first time she made me ribs. I was able to save 2 ribs for the next day for snack. Another favorite is the steaks we use to buy at costco (they no longer sell them) they are steak flanks wraped in bacon stuffed with bacon chunks and mushrooms. So I found the receipe online and started making my own. the first time didnt turn out correctly, they tasted great, but the appreance wasnt correct. 2nd time my sister made them, they tasted great and looked great as well. Now for the 3rd time (which will be made in the next few days, will hopefully be made more like my sisters. )
So back to the halloween candy, I had to run to the store for some salsa to go on my salad (another side note: I can't have salad dressing at least the store bought ones as it contains alot of oils that I cant have, if anyone knows of a good salad dressing that just has stuff from the "can eat post" I would love to have the reciepe.) So I walked past the candy isle with all the halloween candy out, and yeah i could smell it, but it didnt even phase me that I could grab a bag and cheat. It was like it was any other item on the shelves, I didn't want it.
So back to Fridays weigh-in I lost 3 pounds this week. So now a total of 23.5 pounds down since I started. Its now the end of week 7. Not too bad. Here is an updated photo taken tonight at my sisters house.

DO EAT: (small sample)
Do Eat:
- Beef, pork, lamb, chicken, turkey, fish, and shellfish are all acceptable in all their forms,
- Eggs, cream, butter, lard, olive oil, and coconut oil, are all great.
- Vegetables in almost all forms, are great, just be sure to count the carbs.
- Fruits are good in moderation, the fructose in fruit can add up on you quickly so limit your fruits to 1 to 2 servings per day depending on your carb requirements.
- Nuts and seeds (count the carbs!) if you have been given a protein requirement, nuts and seeds cannot be counted as protein.
- Dairy, in its whole fat forms, is ok for most people at most states of their diets, but you will need to count all carbs, low fat, reduced fat, fat free or any other fat altered form of dairy is NOT acceptable.
DO NOT EAT LIST (small sample)
Since some people have asked on what I can and can not eat, here is a little list of some of the stuff i can not eat.
Do Not Eat:
Do Not Eat:
- Any grains, this includes breads, pastas, rice, corn, cereals, chips, crackers, etc. this is difficult but extremely important.
- Vegetable oils, especially corn oil, and soybean oil. If an oil is not listed as “ do eat” food, it is not acceptable.
- Sugar
- High fructose corn syrup. You will need to check labels on any processed food. This stuff is in everything.
- Potatoes and carrots. Too starchy.

9.0718474 kilograms
So sorry about not posting for a long time, i keep forgetting and when i do remember I can never get logged in. So a little update. as the title states i have officially lost more then 9.0718474 Kilograms or other wise 20 pounds (for you ppl who dont want to do any math.) So for the first time in approx 2 years I am at the lowest I have been and I feel great. The past 1.5 weeks my back has been giving me issues, so I went to the doctors and got some "good" drugs, and now i feel great. So I havent been able to get to the gym all that much (just went to the gym 2x, and not at all to crossfit.) But hopefully tomorrow will be a good day for my back and i can get to crossfit, because i really do miss it.
Well i am off, i will try and remember to update later this week after weigh-in. One thing good is that I have not cheated, as long as i keep having my whip cream and berries.

I can not think of a good title, legs in too much pain.
I am completely sore, I can not sit in a comfortable position, without being in crazy pain. I have felt pain on this new adventure, but nothing to this extreme. I have experienced jello legs and rubber legs, but this is more of a sharp pain whenever i try to stand up straight, or try to sit down. I was lucky to get today off without having to do crossfit, but tomorrow morning I have workout, and I am dreading it.
In other news, more on the food I can eat. (or cant eat). One thing I have to stay away from is High Fructose Corn Syrup. (which is in just about everything).
Weigh-in update: from last Friday to yesterday (Tuesday) I lost 3 pounds. (unofficially) I am at my lowest weight in over a year. Which feels great, just need my legs to not feel painful.

the sticky situation
So last week was not a good week for me, when I am stressed I chew gum, (really alot of gum), mostly I chew sugar free, but last week I purchased sugar gum, bad idea, at the time didn't realize it, but it cost me, I cheated. The sugar in the gum, caused my system to get out of ketoses. Which in turn caused my body to go back to storing fat cells. So last week I gained a pound. I have learned my lesson, doesnt matter how much stressed I get I can not chew gum (at least for now).
So on to this week, I am doing great, haven't cheated (no gum) and after yesterdays 150wall balls, I am very sore today. But I still got up and went for a 2mile walk this morning, then went for a 1 mile walk this early afternoon. Now I am really sore and stiff, but I can feel good about it. Tomorrow is another crossfit day, and I am moving that evening. So lots of workout time tomorrow. Lucky me.

communion (i am not cheating)
So I know i said I would update this twice a week, but this last week has been pretty crazy. I am moving to a new place, so every spare minute I have I am using it to pack. So a quick update:
So everytime i see my trainer, he asks "Have you cheated?" well i can honestly say the answer is "no". why would I, I have the perfect plan (an equal balance of food and workout.)
Last Sunday I attended church and we did communion, normally I would totally do it, but this time I just had to pass on it, as I know its just grape juice (but I had no idea what was in it, I am learning to read labels, and I can not have anything with High Fructose Corn syrup in it.) So I had to pass, another thing as of right now I can not have is grain or flour (so I wasn't going to cheat and eat the little piece of bread.) I am totally dedicated in this new plan, that i just could not do communion (I hope God understands).
I also weighed-in this time on wednesday, and sadly no change. So I am going to look forward to friday's weigh-in. I will keep you posted.
p.s. Even with the little weight I have lost, I am already starting to get complaiments that I am looking like ive lost weight. and that is very cool.

Week 2: Sickies & 4 pounds
So its the end of week 2, so far no cheating. For once I don't want to, I have the perfect weight loss plan for me, the perfect balance between working out and food. So whats the point for me to cheat. This week has been different, I think my body is adjusting to the new food finally, but Wednesday was a bad day, nothing would stay down. but after getting a lot of sleep on Thursday. I am slowly starting to feel better. Workout today was tough, I didn't have all the energy I should have had. But I did good, and my trainer pushed me to almost the puking stage (i was really close).
So today was friday so it was weight-in. Good news is im 4 pounds down. So a total of 7 Pounds in 2 weeks. Not too bad. Next week the weight should be melting off if i dont cheat. (and why would I, I would have to then restart my body to go back into to ketoses all over again.

Week 1: 3 Pounds down
Quick update: So weigh-in was on Friday, and I was down 3 pounds, pretty good esp since it was my first week on my new "good" food plan, and my body was getting use to the new exercise plan as well. Friday was a good workout day, 100 wallballs, and afterward my legs felt like rubber. Today, they are very very sore. But good news is im excited for monday and the workout.

Week 1: Jello Legs
So I am getting on the blogger bandwagon, since I am starting a new chapter in my life. I figured that a great way to keep me accountable is to share my progress. I have decided to finally get in shape and really enjoy what life has to offer me. So I started this new workout and diet (both of which I really like, and right now its a perfect fit. as of week 1) I will try and update this 2x a week.
I am a little over halfway into my first week, and so far so good, no fast food runs, no subway (favorite place to eat), and I got all the "bad" food out of the house. Went shopping and got all the "good" food. I think the hardest part of this new plan is the fact that I can only drink water, no more pop, no more orange juice, no more chocolate milk. But I think this new plan is the perfect balance between eating right and working out. I know in the past for me, I would see great results on the mainstream diet plans for the first month or two. then as soon as i start really exercising I would stay the same for months at a time. I would eat what they said on there plans exactly and see no results. Already in just this first week, I have felt different, my body is starting to respond to the new foods and the work outs even thou they are hard, I feel good when i get done with them. Like yesterday I worked out with my trainer and he worked me hard, and when i got done for the day my legs felt like jello, and today they are stiff as can be, just barely moving them hurts. But I still got up and went for a walk, it was painful, but rewarding. and tomorrow I get to go workout with my trainer again. But for once I am actually excited to go and workout, before it was a chore now its something I look forward to, I think its the actual fact that my "good" food is based around my workouts. and they work well with each other.
Weigh in is at the end of the week. I am going to keep track with how much weight I lose, not were I am at currently, just because I am not sure where I will end up. I have a goal of what I would like to lose by key times in the year. I will keep you all posted (who ever ends up reading this)
